  • Exposition
  • Rising Action
  • Climax
  • the narrator is reading a book in his chamber. He is tired and half asleep. He reads these books to take his mind of of his late wife Lenore. While he reads he hears a knock on his chamber door.
  • Falling Action
  • The narrator is scared because he does not know who is knocking at his chamber door. Then he hesitates no longer and opens it up. He only sees darkness filled in the hall. Then the tapping came from the window. He opened it and a raven flew in.
  • Resolution
  • The raven flew in and perched above his chamber door. The narrator asked if he will ever see his again, maybe in another life. The raven answered, " Nevermore." The narrator became furious and started questioning if the bird was the devil.
  • Allusion
  • The Narrator is still furious and he is still screaming at the raven. He tells the bird to go back to Hell. As the narrator continues to holler and shout the bird stares at him with a demons eye .
  • The Raven stays perched on the chamber door and cast a demonic shadow over the narrator as he continues to scream at the raven.
  • The story alludes to The Nights Plutonian shore as a reference of the bird being a demon coming from Hell.
