The battle of Yorktown
(1781) The British led by general Lord Charles Cornwallis set up fort and fired at the french during the day, while the Colonists led by general George Washington dug trenches and fired back at the British as well.
While the Colonists allied with some french, were firing in their trenches George Washington had a plan to wait until the night to raid the Colonists forts and kill the rest of them, so they waited until the night.
Now that it was night the Colonists men made their way to the British fort and began to kill the remaining British red coats. 6,000 British troops surrendered, and 500 British, 200 french and 80 americans were killed and wounded.
