Storyboard Text

  • Hello,  I have good news.  I've recently set up solar panels to power my house.
  • Oh, I use nuclear energy to power my home and I believe it's the cheapest way.
  • Nuclear energy is quite inexpensive, but it is slowly ruining the environment. Solar energy on the other hand has no effect on the environment.
  • Nuclear energy releases waste that is radioactive and hazardous for thousands of years to come.  Slowly and continuously harming the environment.
  • I agree with your point, but for a lot of people setting up solar panels is very expensive and they can't afford such cost.  Solar panels can cost between $15,000 and $29,000.
  • That is certainly very expensive, but after as little as 7 years you can start making money.  In 20 years, some people could save up to 20,000$.
  • WOW! That would be amazing.  I'm still hesitant because of the way the solar panels look.
  • Many people are still unaware of this but there are now several kinds of solar panels on the market. Varying in looks, price, and efficiency.
  • By the way, the nuclear power plant is not very aesthetically pleasing either and has put our community into a lot of debt.
  • Most people don't know this because powering your home is so cheap but our town power plant took between 2-4 billions dollars to build.
  • Well at least the power plant is providing job opportunities.
  • Solar panel factories provide safe and clean jobs unlike working at the power plant where workers have an increased chance of obtaining cancer.
  • So have I changed your mind and are making you want to change to solar power for your home.
  • Yes, in fact you have.  You've really opened my eyes to why renewable energy is a much better choice compared to non-renewable energy sources.
  • You are making many excellent points!
