Storyboard Text

  • British Government in 1765
  • The colonies need to pay us back after the French and Indian Wars.
  • Why don't we tax them on paper products WITHOUT talking to them about the details?
  • They didn't seem to like that very much so we ended up removing it. Now what?
  • One year later
  • Why don't we do pretty much the same thing, but with tea instead?
  • British Government in 1774:
  • Oh my tea and crumpets! Did you hear Boston dumped our tea into the ocean?!
  • That's awful! We need to set some acts that take away their freedom to stop these rebellions!
  • Reaction in the colonies:
  • Not cool Britian.
  • You should've talked it out with us about the amount we were paying first.
  • Time to protest!!
  • Reaction in the colonies:
  • Again Britain?! Now I feel like dumping all your tea into the ocean!
  • I'm not buying imported tea because then I'd be paying the tax and supporting Britain!
  • I'm going to all the Inns in the area and telling them to stop selling that tea.
  • Reaction in the colonies:
  • This means war! Load your guns and be ready any minute!
  • I heard the First Continental Congress is meeting and are writing their complaints to Britain!
  • If Britain won't give us their stuff then we won't give our stuff to them!
