Storyboard Text

  • THE NATURAL AND UNNATURAL CAUSES OF THE DUST BOWL
  • When the farmers established their crops, topsoil was exposed the the vast winds. This lead to the massive "DUSTERS." As technology advanced, crops grew.
  • SINCE THE PRECIPITATION WAS LOW, FARMERS COULD NOT BEAR SUCCESSFUL CROPS.
  • IF ONLY THERE WAS RAIN.. I NEED THE RAIN
  • PEOPLE WERE LEAVING THE DUST BOWL TO HEAD TO CALIFORNIA BECAUSE THERE WAS SAID TO BE WORK THERE.
  • OVERPRODUCTION LEAD TO THE FARMERS LOSING THEIR FARMS. SINCE THE NEED WAS LOW, PRICES WERE LOW FORCING PEOPLE TO GO INTO DEBT. IT ALSO CAUSED THE SOIL TO BE LOOSE AND UNSTABLE.
  • These were the CAUSES OF THE DUSTBOWL
