Since the Ginseng maiden was transformed from Ginseng had neither Father nor Mother. She lived on the mountain and kept as her good friends sheep, rabbit, pheasant, squirrel, deer, and peacock.
One day the sheep, the rabbit, the squirrel, and the deer went down the mountain. Suddenly it began to rain. She hurried outside and then went down the mountain. When she arrived she found that the rain had caused her friends to become seriously ill.
Take this Elixir it can heal things close to death.
She walked on and one down the mountain until she came to a flooding river. She asked the river, "Why do you impede my progress?"
The peacock feather that was in her basket floated out and got bigger and bigger until she could sit on it.
The Ginseng Maiden found the sage that was in the woods and he told her that the elixir could heal things even close to death.
The Ginseng Maiden quickly returned home to heal her animals. She also healed the Ginseng which where drying out in the sun. That is how the Ginseng got its healing properties.
