  • California Gold Rush 1848-1855
  • January 24, 1848-James Marshall is bulding a fort on John Sutter's land, where he finds gold nuggets.
  • 1848-Word spread like wildfire, that there was a gold in California. Everyone migrated to California in hopes to become rich.
  • Oh golly! We have to go to California!
  • 1948-In desperation, squatters would go directly to John Sutter's land and mine. Which led to his land being in ruins.
  • STOP! YOU ARE DESTROYING MY HARD EARNED LAND!
  • Even though miners didn't get that rich off of gold, many merchants did because they had the opportunity to sell supplies to miners.
  • One of the most famous inventions, was made by Levi Strauss. He invented a new durable kind of pants, that we now call blue jeans
