- Rainsford fell off his yacht. He swam to shore and climbed a cliff. He fell asleep once he got to the top.
- Climax
- Rainsford was stranded on the island. He came across General Zaroff's house. General Zaroff invited Rainsford in. They ate dinner and talked about hunting.
- Falling Action
- Rainsford found out that General Zaroff hunts people. He was mad. General Zaroff was trying to convince him that it wasn't murder. He was telling him why it was so much better than any other animal.
- Resolution
- Rainsford still believed that General Zaroff was a murderer. Rainsford was forced to "play" with General Zaroff. General Zaroff helps him train for the game. If he wins, he can leave the island.
- Rainsford got a three hour head start. He killed General Zaroff's butler. General Zaroff knew where Rainsford was hiding but didn't kill him. General Zaroff got stuck in a trap Rainsford made.
- Rainsford managed to escape the island. He jumped off a cliff. He didn't leave though. He when back to Zaroff's house. He went into his bedroom while Zaroff was asleep. He killed Zaroff and slept in his bed.
