  • Seminal U.S. Documents Essential Question Project
  • How do seminal U.S. documents (1) reflect the beliefs of the people and (2) the foundations of American society?
  • Seminal U.S. documents reflect the beliefs of the people by discussing what the citizens of our nation truly believe. For example, most seminal documents mention collaboration and how our nation needs to work together to achieve our goals. Many citizens live by this, therefore the documents reflect their beliefs.
  • With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
  • United there is little we cannot do in a host of cooperative ventures. Divided there is little we can do--for we dare not meet a powerful challenge at odds and split asunder.
  • Seminal U.S. documents reflect the beliefs of the foundations of American society by suggesting to alter the people's ways. Some Americans in our society may feel hopeless on the subject; seminal documents suggest indomitability and that our nation should never give up, for we shall take on conflicts with confidence.
  • You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.... go back to the slums and ghettos of our northern cities, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed.
  • Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
