  • Phase 1 - Agressive Condition
  • After 1 minute....
  • YOU STUPID DOLL!
  • Phase 1 - Non Agressive Condition
  • Phase 2 - Aggressive Condition
  • These toy's are reserved for the other children
  • In the first phase children sat in a room and played with potato prints and stickers for 10 minutes. During this time an agressive model played with a car set in the same room. After a minute the model turned to a Bobo doll and started physically and verbally agressing it using a standard procedure.

  • The non-agressive model assembled the toy car in a calm and subdued manner while the children played with the potato prints and Ignored the Bobo doll There was no control group in Phase 1

  • The children were taken individually and exposed to mild aggression. They were given toys but after 2 minutes these were takenb away and the experimenter said they were reserved for other children. They were allowed to play with toys in the other room

  • Children were given different toys to play with in the final condition, these included a Bobo Doll, a toy that they'd witnessed the aggressive adult model play with, as well as toys like cars and a toy set that were non-aggressive

  • Children were observed individually through a one way mirror for 20 minutes whilst observers recorded their behaviours.
  • There were four different behavioural categories: used to observe the behaviour: -Imitative Aggression -Partially imitative aggression -Non-imitative physical and verbal aggression -Non aggressive behaviour
