COMIC: on ethnic group

Storyboard Text

  • Mrs. Williams what is the difference in the ethnic groups? I was also wondering what is the difference between ethnic and religious groups?
  • Okay well lets start off with the basics. A religious group is a belief system that believes in one or more gods. An ethnic group has a common culture and shared history, common ancestry, language, traditions, beliefs, holidays, and food. So the difference between ethnic and religious groups is that religious groups believe in a god(s).
  • Yes, it makes so much more sense when someone else explains it.
  • Does this make sense so far?
  • Ok, so the three ethnic groups are: Arabs: Arabs speak arabic and they live in Southwest Asia and parts of Northern Africa. Their religions are Islam and not all all Arabs are muslim. Their history is that they are descendants of Abraham through his son Ishmael.
  • Kurds: Kurds speak Kurdish and they live in Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran. All Kurds are Muslim, and their history is that they are Ancient Iranian people. Persians: Persians speak Farsi and they live in Iran. They only have one religion and that is Muslim. Their history is that they are Indo (Europeans) and came from Central Europe & Southern Russia.
  • Yes that did. Thank you so much for helping me.
  • Ok, I will.
  • Do you understand everything now?
  • Your welcome. Don't forget you can always ask me questions.
