  • Simon Bolivar was one of the greatest figures in the South American liberation. He is a Venezuelan military leader. He wanted to liberate all South American countries from European tyrannies.
  • Hi! My name is Simon Bolivar. I want to liberate South America by uniting them under the same ideals of South Americannism and fighting together against the crown!
  • Bolivar’s first position of power was under the Congress of United Provinces of New Granada, and was given to him in the year 1813. This position granted him the permission to enact military engagements on behalf of the centralized government with relative freedom in strategy and scope.
  • 1863- Nueva Granada
  • In June of 1815, Bolivar leads the recapturing of Merida in Venezuela. Six days later, he also recaptures Trujillo.
  • 1815- Venezuela
  • Bolivar kept recapturing land and giving it back to the South Americans. His most recent achievement was the recapture of the city of Caracas from Spain. This lead to the re-establishing of the Venezuelan Republic.

  • "When tyranny becomes law, rebellion is a right"
  • At this time, Simon Bolivar created "The Decree of War to Death". It certified that any atrocities or murders committed by South Americans against the Spanish would be forgiven, both those occurring after and before the declaration.
  • This regarded at first the Venezuelan civil war but was translated to a full Hispanic liberation.
  • After Venezuelan Republic was re-stablished, it was shortly captured by inner-rebellion forces led by Jose Tomas Boves. Due to this, Bolivar fled to New Granada .
  • Venezuela is ours again!
