  • When Philoetius & Eumaeus are trying to get Odysseus the bow all of the suitors were yelling and getting mad, luckily Telemechus yelled and said give him the bow. 2. The other main conflict is Odysseus return and all he has to go through just to keep him hidden until its time for everyone to know he is back.
  • Suitors-a man who pursues a relationship with a particular woman, with a view to marriage. They are the people who are competing to take Odysseys’s spot and be Penelope’s husband. Hunting bow- a bow that uses a levering system to shoot. It is important because it is the weapon the suitors are using to try to accomplish the task to be Penelope’s husband. Arrow- a shaft sharpened at the front and with feathers or vanes at the back, shot from a bow as a weapon or for sport. It is important because it is what shoots out of the hunting bow to win the contest. Axe head- he cutting head of an ax. It is important because it is what the suitors have to shoot the arrow through to be her husband.
  • Personification- He uses the word “biting arrow” when an arrow really can not bite. This more descriptively shows what an arrow can do.

  • The God Zeus intervened during chapter 21 by sending a bolt of lightning and a clap of thunder down to earth because he wanted Odysseus to know that he was on his side now unlike in the beginning of this epic poem.
