  • John is a supplier of corn. He uses a tractor to produce his corn.
  • Hi, my name is John and I grow corn with my tractor. Her name is Tracy.
  • One day, John's tractor breaks. Now he must do all the work by hand.
  • I miss Tracy!
  • John produces corn much more slowly, so his supply of corn decreases. Thus, the supply curve shifts to the left.
  • Its been three weeks and I've only planted one stalk.
  • Jessica is a supplier of dress shirts made of rayon.
  • Welcome to my store!
  • The president declares that all dress shirts must be made of cotton.
  • I'm the president, so do what I say.
  • Jessica must adjust her method and materials for producing dress shirts, so her supply decreases. As a result, the supply curve shifts to the left.
  • I have to start all over now!
