  • Romeo and Juliet Act 3
  • Scene 1
  • Staying for thine to keep him company. Either thou or I, or both, must go with him.
  • Scene 2
  • Tybalt is gone and Romeo banishèd. Romeo that killed him-he is banished.

  • Scene 3
  • Then "banishèd" is death mistermed.
  • A fight begins on the streets of Verona. Romeo steps in to defend Mercutio, but Tybalt stabs him under Romeo's arm. Seeking revenge, Romeo kills Tybalt and then flees. The Prince banishes Romeo from Verona.
  • Scene 4
  • O'Thursday, tell her. She shall be married to this noble earl.
  • Juliet learns of her cousin's death and the banishment of her husband. At first, she grieves over the loss of her cousin. Later, Juliet grieves over Romeo's banishment, and the Nurse says that she will find Romeo to comfort her.
  • Scene 5
  • I will not marry yet, and when I do swear it shall be Romeo.
  • I tell thee what: get thee to church o'Thursday, or never after look me in the face.
  • Romeo is informed that he is banished from Verona because of his actions, and he views banishment as being worse than death. Romeo attempts suicide, and Friar Lawrence advises for him to spend his last night in Verona with Juliet, loving and caring for her.
  • Ascend her chamber. Hence and comfort her.
  • Paris finds Lord Capulet, and asks about marrying Juliet. Lord Capulet, not knowing that Juliet is married to Romeo, tells Paris that they will be wed on Thursday.
  • Lady Capulet announces to Juliet that she is to marry Paris on Thursday. Juliet refuses, and Lord Capulet becomes furious. Juliet seeks the advice of the Nurse, who advises her to marry Paris. Juliet becomes furious, and goes to see Friar Lawrence.
