Action/Important Plot Point
Sir, Desdemona has run off with the Moor.
Where art thou Desdamona?!?
I will incontinetly drown myself.
If thou dost I shall never love thee after. Why, thou silly gentleman!
Roderigo is jealous of Othello because he is married to Desdemona. He is a rich man and believes that he should provide Iago all of his wealth to marry Desdemona and kill Cassio.
This is Act 1 Scene 2 where Roderigo tells Barbantio that Desdemona and Othello are married. This tells us that he is selfish and it sets the plot in motion as to what comes next.
"It's is silliness to live when to live is torment, and then have we a prescription to die when death is our physician." (1.3.304-306)
