  • Roderigo is jealous of Othello because he is married to Desdemona. He is a rich man and believes that he should provide Iago all of his wealth to marry Desdemona and kill Cassio.
  • This is Act 1 Scene 2 where Roderigo tells Barbantio that Desdemona and Othello are married. This tells us that he is selfish and it sets the plot in motion as to what comes next.
