  • Exposition:Doodle is born with disabilities, making the family believe he is going to die. when Doodle lives, doodle's brother does not accept him.
  • It's a boy!!!
  • Rising Action and man vs. man: because of Brother's pride and shame of having a crippled brother,Brother tries and successfully teaches Doodle how to walk. when Doodle succeeded, Brother was not happy because he knew he had done this for his own wrong and selfish reasons.
  • it's okay, i know you can do it Doodle!
  • During supper on a regular summer day, the family finds a scarlet ibis in their yard. Doodle develops a connection with the bird.
  • Climax: Brother trains Doodle to do activities other boys can do,but on the last day of training Doodle proves he is too weak. This angers Brother, so that when a thunderstorm starts,Brother runs home,leaving his weak brother, who cant cant catch up to fend for himself.
  • Brother, don't leave me !
  • Falling Action: Brother feels guilt for leaving his brother and turns back to find him, only to find his dead body.
  • Doodle, where are you!
  • Resolution: Doodle is dead, and out of place like the Scarlet ibis.
  • Nooooo!!!
