  • Closed
  • Europe and France were in a war and because of this they started seizing American ships . America placed an embargo on all of Europe.
  • American merchants were suffering from the loss of sales . So America decided to only keep the embargo on  France and Britain.
  • settlers began moving into Indian territory and the Indians became very upset.
  • Native Americans sided with Britain without America knowing, and had the battle of Tippecanoe. After the battle Americans found out that the riffles that the Native Americans used were given to them from the British.
  • US congress officially declared war on Britain for the second time. 
  • The early battles between America and Britain were in upper Canada
