Do I dare disturb the universe
The sale isn't doing so well...
Sales 14 747 JONES 48 BROWN 55 JOHNSON 9 WILLIAMS 54 MILLER 33 MARLY 45 HAYES 84 PAGE 35 ROSE 47 PATTERSON 60 ARNOLD 663 CRAWFORD 51
Jerry cannot understand himself why he refused the chocolates, until he sees his poster. He now knows that it is his responsibility to disturb the universe and his way of doing this is refusing to sell chocolates.
Hiding that deep dark secret.
As Brian Cochran (the treasurer) tells Brother Leon about the decline in the sale, he is terrified. Brother Leon responds by saying Jerry is the cause of the terrible disease.
He wants Renault to hit Janza with a right to the jaw.
As all the students gather around the list of progress of the chocolate sale, Goober comes in to see the commotion. As he walks in, Goober hears his name being called, 50 boxes then cheers and applause. Yet Goober had stopped selling at 27 boxes to show solidarity to Jerry.
Maybe another kid like Renault will come along...
On the way home from football practice Jerry gets jumped by Emile Janza and some kids from the neighborhood. Emile calls Jerry a fairy and a queer which puts Jerry over the edge, making him call Emile a son-of-a-b*$#h.
Archie and The Vigils had put a raffle and boxing match together in order to make a fool of Jerry. It was no ordinary boxing match, the students who bought raffle tickets go to dictate how the competitors would fight.
Now as the night is ending the story comes full circle. Starting with Obie and Archie on the bleachers surveying and ending with Obie and Archie still watching what they had done. With no compassion or remorse which indicates it will happen again.
