Eurystheys decided for Heracles' Tenth Labor he would fetch the cattle of Geryon from Gadira and have him bring it back to him. Heracles was sent to travel to the west searching for Gadira out somewhere in the ocean. On his journey he defeated many wild beasts in Egypt. He traveled by ship ready to find Gadira.
Heracles was given a golden cup by the sun god as a boat to travel the deep mysterious sea . The Oceanus got very angry that the hero was sailing his waters and raised a huge storm. Pushing the golden cup away.
Heracles landed a distance close by Gadira and spotted the red cattle gazing into the meadows. Then Heracles was attacked all of a sudden.
Geryon's two-headed dog attacked the hero at first sight. The great big beast wouldn't stop fighting him until Heracles used his club and kill it as well as Geryon's herdsman.
Heracles then herded the cattle together but had a little bit of a hard time because they were all over the place. Then came Geryon himself, angry and ready to kill Heracles. The vicious beast had three heads and six arms and was very dangerous. But the hero didn't let that stop him. Heracles killed Geryon with a deadly arrow.
Heracles then drove the cattle back to Greece and lost some completely. But brought back most of the herd back and gave it to King Eurytheus.
