South Shore Community
South Shore Cultural Center on 71st & South Shore Drive in Chicago Illinois.
The Cultural Center was founded by a man name Lawrence Heyworth president of the downtown athletic club, He envisioned an exclusive club called the Country Club which is known as the Cultural Center. In 1905, It was built later in 1916.
The Cultural Center is a 65-acres park with a golf course, tennis court, bathing beach, and an impressive building, In 1974, The Chicago park district purchased the property to expand its lakefront facilities.
The park district planned to demolish the severely deteriorated. However, The community members rallied together to save the historic building.
Now, to this day the Cultural Center is known for having a lot of very important events there. People host weddings, parties, and gatherings there.
