  • One event that led up to the climax was the fight in the park between a few Soc's, Johnny and Ponyboy. In the fight the Soc's tried to drown Ponyboy and beat up Johnny, however Johnny fought back and killed Bob.
  • Falling Action: Rumble
  • When Johnny and Ponyboy arrived at the burning church they figured out that there were children trapped in the building. They then risked their lives to run into the church and rescue the children. They successfully retrieved all the children, however Ponyboy was severely burned and part of the roof fell on Johnny costing him his life later in the story.
  • Resolution: The Soc's stay on their part of town
  • Johnny and Ponyboy were rushed to the hospital, there they were greeted by Sodapop and Darry. Later, after the rumble Johnny died in the hospital.
  • The rumble is where the Soc's and the Greaser's had an offical bet which was if the Soc's won they could stay in the Greasers territory but if the Greasers won the Soc's would have to stay on their territory. In the end the Greasers won the Soc's had to stay in their territory.
  • In the end the Greaser's were awarded with what they wanted which was for the Soc's to leave their territory.
