Call To Adventure
Meeting The Mentor(s)
Katniss Everdeen's home is surrounded by electric fencesthat are never on, and "must dos" created by the government. Sneaking through the fences to go hunting is what makes her feel at peace.
Crossing The Threshold
In order to save her sister, Katniss volunteered herself as Tribute in her sister's place to participate in the Hunger Games. The color Effie (violet-purple) is wearing is used to express her status in the capital, and her visualness for the success of these two Tributes.
Lucky for Katniss, she has more than one mentor, including Haymich, Cinna though she meets him later on, and even Effie. Both Haymitch and Cinna wear black to show of their intelligence and experience. Both are usefull in making Katnoss stand out compared to the other Tributes, making her look more valuable and prepared for her upcoming journey.
The speedy means of transpirtation, the different living space and food, and the strange people all show Katniss that her life is much different from the people of the capital's. The people of the capital wear bright, vibrant colors and various amounts of gold, as to show their wealth and status in the capital and express their enthusiasm for the Hunger Games
Mutant wasps, evil Careers, poisonous berries, fire, wolf mutts - the Hunger Games has them all.
The Capital changes the rules yet once again, after Peta and Katniss win, forcing them to choose who gets to live- who gets to die.
