  • Bourbon King Charles X of France took away voting rights from the middle class and censored the press. Liberals overthrew him and created a constitiutional monarchy.
  • I am going to take away voting rights away from the middle class and the press
  • This is not right.  We are going to create a constitutional monarchy.
  • Despite liberal and nationalistic attempts the conservative order dominated and revolutions erupted in 1848
  • I agree
  • Lets come together as a union and stand up for what we believe is right
  • We want voting rights. We want a republic government.
  • A temporary government was established and in November the French Constitution was ratified.
  • There will be no changes in voting
  • News of the Revolution spread throughout Europe and Germany had been divided into 38 states. In May of 1848 Germany created a new constitution for a united Germany.

  • The Austria government wanted power and control. They crushed the Czech rebels and defeated Vienna.  With the help of Russia the Hungarians were also defeated.

  • #1. Moderate liberals vs. radical revolutionaries. They're on the same side BUT could not agree on goals of the revolution. #2. The various ethnic groups were trying to overthrow the empire controlling them. However, they could not see past their OWN differences with each other.
