  • In the short story "The cask of Amontillado" by Edgar Allan Poe there is a jester named Fortunato and he is buried alive. It all started after Montresor told Fortunato that the had a wine called Amontillado and he said it doesn't taste right. So he wanted to try it for himself. So they went down into the vault. Montresor gave the jester many opportunity's to go back. But they jester still wanted to try the wine. So that got him killed, by being buried alive.

  • Montresor revenge is justified because Fortunato would insult his family and would play pranks on him.
  • Conclusion
  • "Fortunato had insulted me. So I vowed revenge."

  • This shows how Fortunato did wrong to Montresor's family. So now after Fortunato had insulted him and pranked him. Now it is time for Montresor to get revenge. Montresor wanted Fortunato to feel the same pain that he did.
