Festus Cladius Mckay B.K.A Claude Mckay. Claude was born in Clarendon Jamaica in September 15, 1889
He had eleven older siblings. He was the youngest of all of the siblings. Claude older brother was a school teacher.Claude mother sent him to live with his older brother to get a better education.
Claude mother was white and his father was black. His mother got pregnant by a slave-master.Claude mother was name Hannah Ann Elizabeth Edwards and his father is name Thomas Francis Mckay.
Claude was the first person in "The Harlem Renaissance".Claude meet Countee Cullen. Cullen was also a poet during "The Harlem Renaissance.
As the years went by, Claude married his high-school sweetheart.His sweetheart was name Eulalie Imelda Lewars. They had a daughter later in the year.There daughter was name Ruth Hope. They was very excited to have a little girl to take over there business.
Claude became very successful in his upcoming life. Claude was very happy with his with and his daughter. Mckay was very famous for his poem"If We Must Die.Claude retired from all his jobs. Claude died in May 22, 1948 because of a heart attack
