Storyboard Text

  • I solomnly swear to turn down all arms on behalf of the South, and obey all further orders.
  • After the defeat at Appomattox, General Lee surrenders on April 9, 1865.
  • I would like all officers to be pardoned with their own property.
  • General Lee then asks for terms of surrender
  • Next, I would like my men to receive some well needed rations.
  • I am unable to fight this unwinnable war. My army has been cut in half since our last battle.
  • I also cannot put the South in any more harm than it already is.
  • You are making the right decision. I will even give the men in your army a parole rather than being a prisoner.
