The message is was trying to bring out, was that it doesn't matter what people say about you! You should always be you 100% of the time, not "you" in somebody else' skin. Even though McKayla was getting bullied for what she looked like, at the end of the day nothing changed! There is always that one in a million chance things don't work out as planned! Getting plastic surgery only made things worse, but she cant turn back time to change what she did. She realized at the end that she should have stayed herself! Which was my main concept with the story.
How she lost her identity:
By having plastic surgery, McKayla lost her original appearance, which was her outer identity. Because she changed the way she looked, on the outside, she wasn't herself. Not only did the surgery change her identity, but the bullies in the story did too! By bullying somebody for any reason in general, it will cause that person to lose their identity! When someone is getting bullied for how they look or how they act, etc. the victim tends to slowly lose their identity, inside and out. They will either be somebody they're not or no body at all!
Title: "SCARS" means:
The reason why I chose "Scars" as my title, is because it has multiple meanings. It not only represents physical scarring, but emotional, mental and word form too. In my story, the word "scars" means all of this! The physical side is obviously represented by the outer scarring from the plastic surgery she had done. Mental scarring comes from the mind. She was
affected by this because of all the bad thoughts she had. The bad thoughts not only comes from herself, but from the bullies as well. This is linked to word scarring. Because they were saying mean stuff abut her, it caused her to think bad about herself too, hence the mental scaring! Emotional scarring is everything over all! It includes just every single type of scarring that I've listed and more! The reason it is everything, is because it is all lead by your emotions! In a way, your emotions are in control, and through everything you have to feel something right! When you feel something, (which is ALL the time) they are called your emotions!
