Alice was angry with her mother so she decided to sit on the roof to be by herself. The rain didn't bother her. She sat there for so long that she lost track of time and soon, the sky was dark above her. But she still didn't go back inside to face her mother's wrath.
There was a noise on the fire-escape off the side of the building and all of a sudden, a young man was on the roof, muttering crazy things to both himself and to Alice. He had the most amazing had and she found out that his name was Hatter. They talked and talked, sitting together on the seat, not worried about having just met each-other.
Hatter got up and went to the side of the building and Alice followed, wondering why. Suddenly, he jumped over the side of the building and as he was falling, he grabbed Alice's hand, bringing her over the side with him. They fell and they fell, somehow never hitting the ground, only the empty air of the dark nights sky.
When Alice finally woke up, she found herself in a cave and Hatter shaking her awake. He looked excitedd and starte walking through the blackness, towards a slither of light around a corner which seemed lifetimes away. Alice followed him, not knowing where she was or what else she could do but let him lead the way into the literal world of the unknown.
Finally reaching the outside of the cave, Hatter all of a sudden fell to his knees and looked to be crying. He started to mutter again, saying something about a Wonderland and asking nobody in particular questions. "What happened?", "It can't be gone, can it?" and "Where is everyone?". He finally came to a resolve, turning to Alice and stating, "We will find them", and walking off before she could reply.
Walking throung the dark forest, whatever world which had been here before, was mostt obviously now gone and in ruins. Far in the distance, Alice could catch glimpses of a castle. Hatter seemed to be watching it too and it seemed this is where they would be heading. They did not see anyone at all along the way.
