Storyboard Text

  • Odysseus beaches on the island with the Cyclpoes.
  • Guys we need to go get food and i want to see that Cyclops.
  • We'll go gather up 10 more good fighters to come with us
  • Odysseus enters the Cyclops' cave with his men.
  • Maybe we should just take the sheep and leave?
  • No let's keep going
  • To escape the cave Odysseus and his men blind him.
  • This is for keeping us here and for my men you ate
  • "In the next land we found were Cyclopes, Giants . . . a prodigious man slept in his cave alone, and took his flock to graze afield."
  • Odysseus taunts the Cyclops, so the Cyclops prays to his father, Poseidon.
  • ". . . I told the crew to stand by and keep watch over the ship; as for myself I took twelve of my best fighters and went ahead . . . we climbed, then, briskly to the cave. But Cyclops had gone afield to pasture his fat sheep."
  • "I drew it from coals and my four fellows gave me a hand, lugging it near the Cyclops as more than natural force nerved them; straight forward they sprite, lifted it and rammed it deep in his crater eye,and leaned on it turning it as a shipwright turns a drill . . . The ball hissed broiling and the roots popped.
  • "O hear me, lord, blue girdler of the islands, if I am thine indeed, and thou art father grant that Odysseus, raider of cities, never see his home: Laertes’ son, I mean, who kept his hall on Ithaca. Should destiny intend that he shall see his roof again among his family in his father land, far be that day, and dark the years between. Let him lose all companions, and return under strange sail to bitter days at home."
