I have lines 1888-2723
Beowulf, son of Ecgtheow, spoke:“What happened, lord Hygelac, is hardly a secret anymore among men in this world--Myself and Grendel coming to grips on the very spot where he visited destruction on the Victory-Shieldings and violated life and limb, loses I avenged. So no earthly offspring of Grendel’s need ever boast of that bout before dawn,No matter know long the last of his evil family survives (1999-2008)
This quote shows Beowulf telling about his road of trials and in that he emphasizes the monster’s ferocity and the rewards that he received from Hrothgar. He relates the battle with Grendel’s mother as well.
“Now, earth, hold what earls once heldAnd heroes can no more; it was mined from you first by honorable men. My own people have been ruined in war; one by one they went down to death, looked their last on sweet life in the hall. I am left with nobody to bear a sword or burnish plated goblets, put a sheen on the cup. The companies have departed. (2247-2254)
This quote can represent the return stage of the hero's journey. Beowulf seems to be dealing with the state of his "known world" after he has returned.
“Men at arms, remain here on the barrow, safe in your armor, to see which one of us is better in the end at bearing wounds In a deadly fray. This fight is not yours, nor is it up to any man except me to measure his strength against the monster or to prove his worth. I shall win the gold by my courage, or else mortal combat, doom of battle, will bear your lord away.” (2529-2537)
I think this quote was another "call to adventure" because Beowulf has a motivation and reason to return to battle and is inspired in that moment and brave in the way he wants to return to the battle.
