When I knew of the plot, I could stop rebellion and warfare from breaking out. I wrote letters to Roger of Hereford, persuading him to make peace with William.
Roger and Ralph did not back down though. They marched towards each other and proceeded to march south. However, I sent an army to meet them which defeated them. My army meant that they could not meet up and march South.
The Danish support did arrive however the armies had already been defeated by me and everyone was gone. The Danes pillaged York and sailed home again. They got what they had wanted and didn't have to fight a battle.
