  • Then you must kill King Duncan. He is coming over tonight
  • Killing Duncan
  • Macbeth fought bravely in battle and he meets 3 witches who said "All hail Thane os Glamis. All hail Thane of Cawdor. And all hail King thereafter." King Duncan made Macbeth the Thane of Cawdor shortly after, so he know that the witches are speaking the truth. Macbeth is now ambitious and wants to become the king as soon as possible.
  • Killing Banquo
  • Macbeth tells his wife, Lady Macbeth, about the prophecy. Lady Macbeth is very ambitious and tells Macbeth that he has to kill King Duncan. Lady Macbeths has planned that they will kill Duncan and smear the blood on the guards, then kill the guards so that they will not tell the truth.
  • Second Prophecy
  • Macbeth kills Duncan.  He smears the blood on the guards to make it look like they did it and killed the guards before they could speak the truth. He tells the others that he killed the guards because he saw them killing Duncan. Macbeth is now King of Scotland.
  • Macbeth's Death
  • Macbeth hires 2 murderers to murder Banquo and Fleance. However, Fleance escapes. The murderers are not very bright, and do not run after Fleance to kill him too. Macbeth is very mad.
  • Macbeth sees the witches again, who say "Beware of Macduff. No man born of a woman can harm you. You will be safe until the forest comes to you." Macbeth thinks that he cannot be killed, as every man is born of a woman. In addition, forests cannot move, so he is sure that he is safe.
  • Macduff kills Macbeth as he was born of a Caesarean section. However, Lady Macbeth commits suicide, after going mad with guilt. The witches' prophecy came true, and Macbeth realises that they have tricked him. Macduff and him army hid behind bushes to hide their bodies, so the forest had moved.
