They proceeded to Griffin's wharf. There layed Hall, Bruce, and Coffin, the British captains. Everything was light as day from lamps and torches. They were divided into three parties.
Hewes was ordered to get the keys from the captain. The chests were drawn up by a tackle. They were ordered by their commander to open the hatches and and take out all the chest of tea and throw it overboard. They cut open the boxes of tea with their tomahawks, this took about three hours, although there were many people it was silent.
