This is the Meeting of Estates Generals. This is when King Louis XVI held the first ever meeting since 1614. This meeting was held in 1789.This is when each estate voted using 1 representative from each.There was a Cahiers were lists of grievances that were drawn out during the Meeting of Estates Generals.
During the Division of the French Society, we were introduced to the 3 Estates.This is how the community was separated. The one I am with is the 1st estate this was the clergy.
This is the Tennis Court Oath. This is when King Louis XVI and the 1st and 2nd Estates locked the 3rd Estate out of the meeting. That was because they believed that their one vote did not matter in which they needed a way for them not to be there. After they were locked out they found a tennis court in the castle and for the National Assembly which were the ones who gave us a pledge and a constitution.
This is the Second Estate. This estate consists of all nobility, So these are people with a title like kings, queens, monk, etc.
This is the Storming Of Bastille. This is when the 3rd estate was trying to kill the King because they wanted rights. It took place on July 14,1789.Much weaponry was used as well as many were sent to prison for their protest and threats. This was a symbol of hatred toward the King.
This is the Third Estate. This estate consists of all common people, So everyday people like bakers and doctors, mostly bourgeoisie.
