I HAVE A DREAM
NO MORE DISCRIMINATION!!
Martin Luther King Jr. inspires many people to protest against unfair segregation laws. He made his famous "I have a dream" speech.
People began to protest against these unfair laws, taking Martin's words to heart, many of them just teenagers.
Unfortunately, these peaceful protests often turned ugly when police arrived. The police blasted these men and kids with fire hoses and sometimes set police dogs on them.
Many of the African American protesters were arrested, even though they had caused no harm to anyone.
They were put in rough jail cells where they were often beaten and tortured by the white inmates.
