Storyboard Text

  • Bro I'm tripping out right now. I think my respiratory system is a little messed up from smoking too much marijuana. I should go see a doctor.
  • Yo Dawg, I need help. I'm not too sure what the problem is but i think something is wrong with me, could you recommend me to a doctor.
  • Oh, well you're pretty lucky because the best doctor is right across the street.
  • Yo doc, I been smoking too much marijuana to get the pain removed from when my tonsils were removed. As a result I think I have problems in my pharynx.
  • The problem is, there are three parts to your pharynx: The nasopharynx, oropharynx, and laryngopharynx. Lets take an MRI of your skull!
  • We know that the pharynx is the region behind the nose and mouth that connects each to the esophagus. The Nasopharynx is the upper part of the pharynx that connects the nasal cavitiy above the soft palate. It allows one to breathe through the nose.
  • The oropharynx is the part of the pharynx that lies between the hyoid bone and a soft palate. It allows a person to swallow and breathe through the mouth. The Laryngopharynx is where both air and food pass. It's found betwwen the hyoid bone and the larynx and esophasgus and it guides food and air.
  • Well, the larynx is a muscular organ which forms passage to the lungs which holds the vocal chords. Air passes through the larynx by a  slit-like hole called glottis. The glottis affects vocal modulation through expansion and contraction.
  • But what is the larynx?
