  • The Sepoys resented Britain's strict regulations. They were trying to convert the indians to Christianity, and they had had enough with the racism.
  • In 1857, 85 Sepoys were jailed for refusing to work in the army. Then later, on May 10th, 1857, the Sepoys managed to rebel and capture the city of Delhi.
  • The indians could not unite to fight the British because of the split between Muslims and Hindus. Many ended up either standing up for their religion or falling beneath the rule of the British and remaining allies.
