The Monkey and the Ledge

There was once two Jackals, Wily and Wary. They were worried about their king. However, Wary warned Wily about not acting on his curiosity. Thus, the telling story of the monkey and the ledge.
A merchant was building a temple on the outskirts of a certain city.
One day, when the workers left for lunch a batch of monkeys landed at the temple site and began playing with whatever caught their fancy.
One monkey saw a log with a wedge in it and out of curiosity proceeded to try and pull it out.
The monkey, after getting the wedge out was trapped between the log. Killing himself. “Therefore,” Wary said , “it is not wise to poke our nose into affairs that are not our concern.
