In the 1600's the pilgrims came and established colonies in America because of their religious beliefs.
On December 16, 1773 more than 100 colonists dressed up as Indians and dumped tea into overboard. They did this because of the unfair taxation without representation.
On July 4th 1776 colonial leaders signed the declaration of independence because people were being treated unfairly.
In the summer of 1787 a group of Americas most important leaders came together and made a new set of rules called the constitution to make the us and government much stronger.
After all of these changes the colonists were much better off with there life and were happy with the new way things were being run.
