  • Apatite is found in the Apatite mineral group. Some of the characteristics of this group are isomorphous, hexagonal, and phosphate.

  • Apatite has fracture and is vitreous. It can be many different colors and if you shine on it with a UV light then it will glow orange.

  • On the Mohs Hardness Scale it has a hardness of 5.

  • Yes! It is used in things like fertalizer, phosphoric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and gemstones.
