  • Gene
  • Phineas
  • Are you okay?
  • OUCH!
  • Leper
  • Gene is a very smart kid, but not very athletic. He takes his studies very seriously, at least he did at the beginning of the book. "Oh, for God sake." I slammed closed the French book." That is his reaction when interrupted while studying for an exam.
  • Quackenbush
  • You maimed son of a *@!$%
  • Phineas is an extremely talented individual when it comes to physical activities. He has low expectations when it comes to school though. "I could study forever and I'd never break a C..." While, when it comes to sports he expects to go up as high as the olympics.
  • Brinker
  • IT WASNT ME!
  • Leper is an active person he likes sight seeing which is why he enjoys skiing so much. He sees people from the military skiing and decides i'd be the perfect place for his to join. But it leads to him going crazy. "You make me sick, you and your damn army words."
  • Dr. Stanpole
  • Quackenbush is the Rowing team instructor. He is very stern and say exactly what he wants without holding back. "Listen you maimed son-of-a-bitch.." this quote from Quackenbush shows how stern and so may say mean Quackenbush is.
  • Brinker is an interesting character, though he is extremely smart and is into the war. He can be mean at some points, like when he accuses Gene of pushing Finny out the tree. "You knew all the time. I'll bet it was all your doing." He playfully accused Gene.
  • THE Truth hurts, eh?
  • Dr Stanpole is caring when it comes to Finny. He realizes how close Finny and Gene are, and asks that Gene visit Finny while he was in the doctors. "You? No, why? I don't want any of these teachers flapping around him. But pal or two. it'll do him good."
