William Lloyd Garrison- Civil War
My name is William Lloyd Garrison and I am the publisher of the abolitionist paper "The LIberator."
I am an abolitionist. An abolitionist is a person who supported ending slavery. I didn't believe in slavery and did everything that I could to help people understand my views and end slavery.
I wrote the paper to tell everyone that slavery was wrong and should be abolished immediately! My paper was banned in the South.
Others joined me to form the American Anti-Slavery Society. We published book and papers advocating the freedom of all slaves!
