  • the supreme courts decision in Brown v Board of education was central to successof the civil rights movement. After reconstruction, Southern states passed laws requiring of race in the same school.
  • Civil Right Act of 1964/24th Amendment
  • the boycott lasted 13 months and brought Rosa Parks,Dr.Kingsand their cause before the attention of the world. The court that seregation on buses by the city of Montgpmery and violated the equal protection clause of the fourteenth amendment.
  • Selma Alabama March
  • Afrcan African students held a sit-i ''whites only'' these protests , downtown stores finally agreed to desegregate countries and hire African American workers.The frredom riders sought to overturn racial segregation on public transportation.
  • Affirmative Action
  • Prohibted discrimination based on race,color,religion or ethinic orgin in hotels, resturants and all places of employment doing business with federal gov in interstate commerce. the 24th amendment eliminated polltaxes federal elections.
  • Dr.King went to Selma,Alabama to organize a march demanding the vote for Afircan Americans.
