Storyboard Description

When Esperanza and her family went to her little cousins baptism, she was feeling self conscious about her feet. Esperanza didn't want to dance because her, ¨feet swell big and heavy like plungers¨ (Cisneros 47). This shows an example of a simile because Esperanza is describing her feet to an unlikely source, plungers.

  • When Esperanza and her family went to her little cousins baptism, she was feeling self conscious about her feet. Esperanza didn't want to dance because her, ¨feet swell big and heavy like plungers¨ (Cisneros 47). This shows an example of a simile because Esperanza is describing her feet to an unlikely source, plungers.
  • When Rachel, Lucy, Esperanza, and Nenny play together, the conversation comes to hips. Rachel, Lucy, and Esperanza are all talking about hips when Nenny is in her own little world. Nenny, ¨is in a world we don't belong to anymore¨ (Cisernos 52). This shows an example of an oxymoron because even though Nenny is on the earth, she is imagining herself in a different world.
  • In ¨The Family of Little Feet¨, Esperanza talks about a family where are their feet are different. The grandpa's feet,¨were fat and doughy like thick tamales¨ (Cisernos 39). This example shows a simile because Esperanza compared the grandpa's feet to tamales.
