  • Tell me about your physical activity.....
  • As I've gotten older I'm not as active as I used to be - I don't get out-and-about and meet other people as much either
  • What do you think about meeting with someone who could help you to become more active?
  • I'd like that!! I'd like to meet someone who has similar interests to me and I'd like to go to new places
  • I'm a volunteer. I'm trained to contact 'isolated' older people in the local community. I'm active and outgoing
  • In the 'Walk with Me' study you could be trained as a peer-mentor
  • Whats a peer-mentor?
  • You would be trained to help people to problem-solve and set goals to be active. You would meet them for a walk or other activity and call them to provide encouragement to be active
  • Someone who is a similar age to you, with similar interests
  • Sounds good - sign me up!
  • Over the last 12 weeks its been great to meet- and have the support of people to be active
  • Yeah - I'm more active myself!.....and we've identified other older people in the community who could benefit from the programme
  • What happens now the programme is over?
  • We will sign-post you to other community-based programmes to help you maintain your activity
