Storyboard Text

  • Hey Michelle! Did you ever enroll in that course we talked about last week?
  • Good to see you, Mark! No, I decided not to enroll. I'm not sure the course is very relevant to me. I'm also worried I won't do well. It's too expensive, I wouldn't have time for it, I have a million other things to do! Also, with everything going on with family, the course wouldn't be of priority right now.
  • Well, give it some time. You may be in a better position to take the course in a few weeks! You are smart, I know you can get through it!
  • Thanks Mark, I feel better now. I'll take some time and think about it!
  • I shouldn't be here!
  • Welcome to Archaeology 101
  • Yes, the definition of archaeology is...
  • Mark and Michelle run into each other while walking their dogs in the neighborhood. A week ago, they talked about Michelle enrolling in an archaeology course at a local university. Michelle's explanation for not enrolling exhibits the DPS six factors of nonparticipants.
  • Professor, I don't think I belong in this course. Was there some type of administrative error?
  • Welcome to Archaeology 101
  • No Michelle, I read your application and was very intrigued by your past work experience and research! You definitely belong in this class! I hope you decide to stay. I look forward to working with you!
  • After their conversation, Michelle is giving the course a second thought. A few weeks after this conversation, Michelle decides to enroll in the course.
  • Long time, no see! How was your first day?
  • At first I was very worried and felt like I didn't belong, but after speaking to my professor, I feel a lot better and look forward to learning more!
  • It's the first day of class and Michelle is feeling reluctant about her decision to take the course. She is overthinking the situation and worries that the only reason she got into the class was that of a clerical or administrative error. Michelle has developed imposter syndrome.
  • Shakespeare!
  • Welcome to Poetry 101
  • After class, Michelle approached the professor to ask if her enrollment in the course was a mistake. The instructor ensured Michelle that it was no mistake.
  • Michelle headed home in excitement about her future in the course. She couldn't wait to tell Mark how her first day went!
  • By the end of semester, Michelle had learned so much in her archaeology 101 course. She decided to enroll in a poetry course. This time, she even encouraged Mark join her!
