I want to make bubbles, but I don't have soap. I do have vinegar...
I think baking soda and vinegar are the two that will make bubbles.
Purpose Lily needs to know which substances will make bubbles when mixed with vinegar.
Research She finds out that bases have bubbly reactions with acids like vinegar, and knows that one of her substances is baking soda which is a base.
Hypothesis She knows that vinegar is an acid and baking soda is a base. She guesses that baking soda and vinegar will make bubbles.
Hey I had this really cool experiment...
Experiment Lily mixes each substance with vinegar one at a time.
Data She analyzes her results and records them on a chart.
Conclusion She finds her hypothesis correct and tells her friends and classmates about her experiment.
