Let's tale a trip to China in the Han Dynasty. I will tell you more about the Han Dynasty later! Now, lets go on a trip to China!!!!!!
Agriculture The Chinese people had to make their own clothes, build their own homes, grow crops for the whole family, and give one month of unpaid labor to the government for building roads and canals.
Industry Salt was a good item to trade for. Salt had it's many uses, for one, the salt kept vegetables fresh.
Art Before the invention of paper, the Chinese used silk. Sometimes they carved symbols into bamboo. The silk was used because it was easy to roll up. The way they wrote was bold and delicate.
Medicine The ancient Chinese believed that illness occurred when the yin and yang are out of balance. Healers tried to fix that by restoring the natural balances of the opposite forces. A healing method they used was acupuncture. Thats where they stick needles in their skin. Another healing method is moxibustion. That is where a small cone of leaves is placed near or on the skin and burned.
Science Scientists figured out about how the light reflects off of the moon. They also learned about solar eclipses and how the moon blocks the sun. They invented two cool instruments: the seismograph, that measures the seismic waves that is in a earthquake. The second one is a magnetic compass. As you can see, they learned a lot and made great discoveries.
