Storyboard Text

  • The Agribusiness Family
  • Story
  • I want to be a farm manager when I grow up.
  • Billy's Job Description
  • I work outside all day, in all kinds of weather, bending and squatting.
  • I make $22,930 a year.
  • Written and Illustrated By: Hunter Hjort, Edward Engel, Clay Cortright and James Liang.
  • Education
  • There once was a family of mice who worked in the agribusiness industry. Billy, the dad, was a farm worker, Samantha, the mom, was a farm educator, and Sophia, the daughter, wanted to be a farm manager.
  • Connection
  • Billy, the farmworker, maintains the crops, and tends to the livestock, sometimes operating machines like a tractor.
  • Sophia's Job Description
  • Farm managers make between $48,000-$72,000!
  • As a farm manager I would typically work outside with strenuous physical physical work! There a little bit of indoor office work.
  • To become a farmworker, most jobs on the farm only need a high school diploma, so you can get that education for little or no cost.
  • I got my job by graduating from high school.
  • As a result of Billy being a farmworker, he deals with waste and the environment. Billy has to both clean up waste from his farm animals, and keep the environment clean and sustainable for his crops, and animals to feed.
  • My job connects to waste, because the livestock produce waste that I clean up and use as fertilizer.
  • Sophia wants to become a farm manager when she grows up. As a farm manager she would supervise the fertilizing, planting, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting procedures of crops.
